Why did I post this pic? This is more a Seth Meyers style Weekend Update - you're gonna read it because it's here, but it's not gonna be anywhere near Dennis Miller funny.
To recap my weekend for y'all I need to start with Thursday, because Thursday's events kinda affected my weekend - and my mood. Thursday morning Hubby didn't work from home as he had the past few days, he had to go into work to take care of some things. Our microwave for the new house was being delivered, so the Home Depot delivery guy was gonna call him when he was a half hour away and I was going to go meet him at the new house to take delivery of the microwave. The rest of the appliances were set to arrive on Friday. Home Depot guy called when he was only 15 mins away. Our current house is only about 3 miles from the new one, so that's no biggie. I was already dressed and ready to go because I had errands to run after meeting him. So I put the dogs up, and headed out...and promptly got stuck behind the half-day kindergarten school bus....for the whole 3 miles. I finally get to the house, inspect and sign for the microwave in two minutes flat. I'm ready to get on my way....and my truck won't start. It's not a dead battery or anything simple like that either. I have to wait for Hubby to come get me...from 45 mins away. We finally determine that my fuel pump has gone bad, and are able to get the truck cranked by tapping on the fuel tank, so we can at least drive it home. We figured we'd get it home, park it, and decide if Hubby was gonna fix it, or if we'd just take it somewhere because with a dead fuel pump we wouldn't be able to start it again. Well we get home and cut it off, and it cranks right back up, and has proceeded to do so all weekend. I will not be fooled though, I know as soon as I set off to run errands alone, the dang thing will do it again!
Friday, Hubby worked from home so we could meet the guy with our appliances at the house. Except the appliances couldn't go in the kitchen yet because the tile guy had been MIA since last Friday. He tiled the Kitchen, Laundry Room, Master Bath, and Upstairs Bath, but never grouted. He also didn't tile the Guest Bath. Our GC was there Friday constantly trying to reach tile guy or his boss and Tile Guy didn't show until 1:30 Friday afternoon....and he didn't have the proper materials to start on our shower, so he was only able to grout the floors and tile the fireplace. But he'd be back Saturday to do the shower since the guy is coming to measure for the shower glass on Monday.....as of yesterday, the shower hadn't even been started. As soon as my house is done, I'm going to give Tile Guy a review. That's right Tile Guy...you'll never work in this town again. On a happy note, most of the light fixtures are in, and my appliances look great (pics to come)!
Yesterday we were supposed to have a potential renter coming from out of state to look at our current house. We had decided not to show it until we moved out, but this lady was very interested. Hubby had emailed her some pics and she really wanted to see it. Since the house is full of boxes right now, Hubby and I busted our butts cleaning for 3 days so she could come see it, she emailed asking when they could come and Hubby emailed her back saying they could come Saturday afternoon....and we never heard back. Maybe she's related to Tile Guy...LOL.
Last night of course was football night. Clemson had an off week, so we watched Arkansas beat USC. I'm not an Arkansas fan but I'm REALLY not a USC fan (hence the Clemson thing). At 8:00 though we switched over to the "big game" of Alabama vs. LSU. Y'all know I love me some Nick Saban Alabama Football, but last night not so much. I gotta give credit where credit is due, LSU played hard - especially in overtime. Apparently at the end of regulation play, Bama's quarterback turns into a pumpkin faster than Cinderella's coach at midnight. Alabama sure had the chance to score more - but those fieldgoal attempts (I use the word "attempts" in its loosest form here) were horrid.
Last night I set my clocks back an hour, but forgot to set the fur kids back...LOL. Trying to explain to a very large, very hungry Lab at 7:00am that it is actually only 6:00 doesn't work very well. Today, I'm off to help Hubby start building the fence at the new house. When I say "help" I mean watch...LOL. If we're lucky, maybe Tile Guy will make an appearance.
Happy Sunday Y'all!

Why is it that people who always say they need the work [any home improvement/construction person] but they rarely show up, or are always late?! We have a guy that does great work, but can never get him to finish things! We had a dryer ventilation thing installed [the vent runs along one wall & goes outside], but he never came back to paint it. 6 months later & we have a drywall shelf behind the couch. Oh well!
Sorry for the car trouble, they're such a pain and ONLY act up when you're in a bad position!
First I want to thank you for following my blog, and I'm now following yours! Second, I sure hope things are going smoothly on your new home. I'll be back to check!
